Hi there. My name is Karly, and I'm addicted to TV shows. I definitely watch too many of them.

What can I say? I love a good story. 

I usually watch shows because of the exciting, compelling, top-notch storylines, settings and actors/actresses. 

Other times I watch shows for easy entertainment, and they're what I would consider "guilty pleasures." I don't necessarily think they're award-winning, best-in-show works of art, but I don't turn up my nose to them either. I can appreciate and enjoy many types of entertainment with varying qualities.

Charming and quirky town/townspeople, mother-daughter adventures through both of their coming-of-age stories including many boyfriends, well-meaning and rich grandparents, good background music choices, tons of long, fast-talking dialogue - how did they memorize all of that?! **The Outer Limits (1995-2002) IMDb - Classic 90s sci-fi. So fun to watch. It has a warm and fuzzy place in my heart. (Genres: Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Thriller)
Outlander (2014- ) IMDb - Ronald D. Moore from the Battlestar Galactica re-make is the creator of this show as well. Based on a popular series of books. Time travel, historical events unfolding in Scotland during 1743, intelligent and captivating leading lady from 1945, charming, chivalrous, sexy leading man, great storylines, backdrop, sets, costumes, etc. Lovely show. (Genres: Drama, Romance, Sci-Fi)

Phineas and Ferb (2007-2015) IMDb - It's a cartoon for kids, but it is very cute, imaginative and appeals to your inner child. These boys just try to live life to the fullest and make each day the best day ever. They build mega rollercoasters, rock out, time travel, etc. "There's a hundred and four days of summer vacation, then school comes along just to end it..." heh
**Portlandia (2011- ) IMDb - Hi-larious comedy skits. There are some hits and misses, but the majority of the characters and scenes are really funny, especially if you like hipster mockery. (Genre: Comedy)

Sherlock (BBC) (2010- ) IMDb - Benedict Cumberbatch. Oh yeah. A modern version of the Sherlock Holmes stories. The famous detective and his right-hand man, Doctor Watson, solve crimes in 21st Century London. (Genres: Crime, Drama, Mystery)
Silicon Valley (2014- ) IMDb - Brought to you by Mike Judge, the man behind Beavis & Butthead and King of the Hill. If you know anything about the tech industry in the Bay Area, you will find this show hilarious, detailed and pretty darn accurate. Even if you don't know anything about it, the humor still shines. (Genre: Comedy)

True Blood (2008-2014) IMDb - It's marked in purple, but I love it like it's green. Vampires, werewolves, fairies, magic, sex...lots of it, and it all revolves around Sookie Stackhouse - what a name. Show is based on a best-selling book series. (Genres: Drama, Fantasy, Mystery, Romance, Thriller)
The Twilight Zone (1959-1964) IMDb - Classic sci-fi from the late '50s, early '60s. They were so creative back then!

The Vampire Diaries (2009- ) IMDb - Interesting soap-opera-like twists involving vampires, werewolves, witches and humans, of course. Centuries of vampire shenanigans played out by actors who all look gorgeous and they're actually not bad actors either. Win/win. (Genres: Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Romance, Thriller)
